Why your social media isnt growing in 2026 (its not what you think)

I’ve been trying to understand why some content grows and some just… doesn’t.

At first, I thought it was:

  • hashtags
  • posting more
  • timing

But after digging deeper, I realized most of that is outdated now.

Platforms in 2026 are way more advanced than people think.

They don’t just look at:

  • titles
  • hashtags

They analyze:

  • what you’re saying
  • what’s happening in the video
  • how long people stay
  • where they drop off

Basically… everything.

That completely changed how I think about content.

I ended up breaking down the 9 biggest mistakes I see creators making right now — things that quietly kill growth without people realizing it.

Some of them are obvious in hindsight, but easy to miss when you’re just focused on posting more.

Curious what others think:

Do you feel like old strategies still work?

Or have you noticed this shift too?
