What part of building a SaaS backend usually takes you the longest?

I’ve noticed that whenever I start a new SaaS project, the backend dashboard infrastructure ends up taking far more time than expected.

Things like wallet logic, subscription plans, referral tracking, and admin approvals aren’t difficult individually, but together they slow launches a lot.

To avoid rebuilding the same system again, I recently put together a reusable backend for my own projects that handles these pieces in one place.

I’m curious how others here handle this part of development.

Do you build everything from scratch each time, use boilerplates, or buy existing systems?
