What are you guys doing differently for AI-driven SEO and GEO?

We run an online saas platform for customer support teams, and much of our organic traffic was traditionally generated by users looking for customer support software, help desk tools, basically around setting up support workflows. Although our SEO rankings are good, traffic is no longer generated at similar rates, likely as many users are getting direct answers from AI. That’s why we’re looking at GEO right now. We’ve been trying to get a more specific idea of what it looks like in practice because a lot of the advice still sounds like traditional SEO with “AI” added to it.

Everyone says to create useful content, answer questions directly, build authority, etc. But when you are trying to improve how your company shows up in ChatGPT or other AI search tools, what does that process look like?

Does it seem different from SEO? How much do you need to log specific prompts and see where/how often your business appears? Or do you still seem to be focused on acquiring relevant content and sources?
