Tally is doing $5M+ ARR with 11 people. I decoded their AEO strategy.

I looked at Tally from the perspective of an AI engine, not a Google crawler.

We ran 90 prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and tracked 314 brand mentions.

Tally showed up in:

37.8% of answers
34 mentions
10.8% share of voice
#4 out of 50 brands

But the interesting part was not the score.

It was the structure behind it.

Tally has built a huge web of pages around the questions a potential customer might ask before choosing a form builder.

Not just:

“form builder”

But things like:

“Typeform alternative”
“Jotform alternative”
“forms for [specific use case]”
“how to create [specific type of form]”
“best form builder for [specific audience]”

Then they connect those pages back to the core product.

The pattern looks something like this:

Use case → Template → Feature → Integration → Comparison → Alternative → Product

That gives an AI engine a lot more context to connect Tally with different problems and buying situations.

They also have:

• Hundreds of template/use-case pages
• Competitor comparison pages
• Alternative pages
• Integration pages
• Feature-specific pages
• Industry and audience pages
• Detailed product documentation
• AI-specific pages
• llms.txt
• MCP support
• AI integrations

The important part is not any single tactic.

It is the coverage.

If someone asks an AI engine about forms for a specific use case, a Tally page exists.

If they ask for a Typeform alternative, a Tally page exists.

If they ask about a specific feature, a Tally page exists.

If they ask how Tally works with another tool, a Tally page exists.

They have basically created a content layer around the entire buying journey.

And that might be the real AEO playbook:

Do not just optimize one page to be recommended.

Create enough relevant context across your website that an AI engine has multiple reasons to recommend you.

The timing is interesting too.

Tally went from $100K MRR in Feb 2024 to $422K MRR in Apr 2026.

$5M+ ARR.

11 people.

No outside funding.

I am curious how many SaaS companies are building for AI recommendations this deliberately yet.
