In beta, users were patient. They explored. They asked questions. They gave feedback.
After launch, patience disappeared.
Most new users didn’t want flexibility or advanced options. They wanted a fast win. If they could not get a result quickly, they assumed the product was not for them and left without saying a word.
What surprised me most was how little tutorials mattered. Even short ones. People expected the interface itself to explain everything.
We noticed this clearly while testing a visual automation tool called Origami Tech, but the lesson felt universal. Simplicity is not about fewer features. It is about fewer decisions in the first session.
