I started an audio plugin company. I did research and realized I needed to use a service like Paddle or Lemon Squeezy, especially when it comes to selling internationally.
Anyways, I am not sure why I went with Lemon Squeezy first, but I did and it was pure headache the whole time. If I remember correctly, I think I went with Lemon Squeezy because of the Stripe integration (I think Stripe owns LS).
First of all it took multiple weeks to get approved. Once I got approved, everything was good to go (or so I thought).
I started doing some content marketing and was able to make a couple of sales, but now my pay out hasn't gone through TWICE. Everything as far as I can tell is set up correctly for a payout. I just added my paypal so it will hopefully go through the middle of the month.
I tried to contact support, but there is no support. There's an AI assistant that keeps you running in circles. When I tried to submit a ticket, I literally got an error screen and couldn't reach ANYONE. It's actually infuriating.
I decided right then and there to switch over to Paddle and I've been accepted in a matter of a couple of days. I had issues uploading my business documents but they would e-mail me back within a matter of hours and had excellent communication. Now I'm up and running with Paddle and feel a lot better about it.
It is mind blowing to me how a payout could fail twice and I would have no way to contact them. Absolutely ridiculous.
I am curious what others experience is, and also just wanted to put this out there in case you are trying to decide between LS and Paddle. I know it's just one anecdote, but there are a lot of other posts I've found with money basically just getting stuck with LS.
