TL;DR
OP wants to know if there should be a dedicated, rule-based subreddit where founders can paste their landing page / SaaS / product copy without links or self-promo, and get actual structured feedback instead of getting dismissed as shillers or buried in generic roasting.
Guys, i have an idea, hear me out:
A lot of people come on reddit to shill their next fitness tracker, i get it. someone posts a link, half the room assumes it’s just another disguised ad (which it often is).
and i am not for it. but for the guys out there really grinding it, being desperate for real feedback, why not give them a chance. i am saying this cuz recently i got some direct feedback from you guys and i was not only valuable but i partially changed my landing page bc of it.
i know there is similar stuff going on in
r/copywriting (basically a „rate my…“)
r/saasdevelopers (where most of them get nuked)
r/sideprojects (where these questions are occasional but not the main pile)
most of these fail cuz they’re either a shill graveyard, it’s generic roasting or a copywriter beginners workshop, right?
so here’s a fresh take (i hope):
instead of dropping a product / promoting a startup / look at my MRR chart we create a place with clear rules and a format:
post the actual copy from your landing page, SaaS, app, newsletter, product page, whatever and we tell them:
rules would have to be strict:
just paste the copy and take the hits.
and we could answer:
i feel like this could actually be useful, because a lot of founders don’t need more advice like “talk to users” or “build distribution.”
3 name suggestions:
/SaaSCopyClinic
/FixMyLandingPage
/CopyForFounders
looking for constructive criticism and actual reasoning.
in my idealistic mind we should help each other cuz this community obviously packs a punch when it comes to relevant info.
call me naive, but imagine reddit as an actual validator for cool new shit.
(i appologize if i am not aware of any subreddit maybe fixing this already.)
so: cool or kill ?
thanks for your time.
