Is it just me, or is the "SaaS Struggle" getting ridiculous?

I’ve been reading so many stories lately about stagnated growth, founders hitting a wall at a certain scale, and people just being unable to close enterprise deals.

There are thousands of great products out there, but founders are struggling to actually find buyers or market them properly. Honestly, it feels like everyone is building these small but usefull tools, but then they get lost in the "open market." They dump money into social media ads, chase lead gen, try to get referrals, and it just ends up being a massive waste of time and cash. Marketing and sales are where most of these projects go to die.

Here’s an idea: Why isn’t there a platform specifically for smaller SaaS companies (absolutely no Big Tech) to list their products?

Think of it like an Alibaba or IndiaMart, but strictly for SaaS. Instead of shouting into the void of LinkedIn, run ads, cold reach to customers you’d have a dedicated hub where:

  • Companies list their SaaS and tag it by solution, target audience, and niche.
  • You can post short video walkthroughs and promotional clips directly.
  • Founders get actual insights on similar products: average selling price, buyer demographics (enterprise vs. SMB), and a solid feedback loop.
  • The "Instant Connect" feature: If a buyer is interested, they don’t fill out a "Contact Us" form and wait 3 days. They connect immediately—like a quick doctor’s consultation—get a live walkthrough from the sales team, and make a decision right then and there.

Most of us are spending way too much effort on the wrong marketing channels. A marketplace for software discovery feels like it would solve a lot of the "unable to sell" problem As the platform would use the fees collected from SaaS companies for promoting categories.

What do you guys think? Is the current "ads and cold outreach" model broken for small SaaS, or am I overthinking it?
