I spent 6 months building an app that made exactly $0 in revenue

Just spent half a year coding. Launched my 'masterpiece'. The result? $0. This is what I wish I knew before I wasted half a year.

Even my prospects looked confused and asked 'who is this for?'. On the other hand, my 3rd app only took a week to build, simple waitlist, got around 100 signups in the first month.

Stop thinking like a top dev 'how can I make this as perfect as possible?'. Start thinking like a problem solver 'am I solving a really painful problem?'.

If you want to see what a 6 month fail looks like and a 6 week success, it's in my profile.

Question: Have you built something that slopped? What did you learn from it?

  • Built what I guessed was a problem
  • Spent ages perfecting the design
  • Didn't do enough marketing
