I made $99 this week from my SaaS then lost my customer today

Not gonna lie, that one hurt a bit :(

I’ve been building a small SaaS around lead generation mainly because I was tired of doing everything manually. Finding leads, checking if they’re even relevant, writing messages… it was taking hours every day.

So I built a simple system for myself that:

  • finds leads based on specific profiles
  • filters out low-quality ones
  • and helps me send better outreach

It actually worked. Got my first paying user of this week, and made $99.

Then today… they cancelled. No feedback, nothing.

Now I’m trying to figure out what went wrong:

  • Was the leads quality not good enough?
  • Not enough value for the price?
  • Or just bad timing?

If you’ve ever lost your first customer, what did you learn from it?

Also curious how are you guys handling lead gen right now? Still manual or using some kind of system?
