Hi folks, first time posting here.
I launched a free license-based macOS app about 1.5 years ago for a niche problem and it has 36 users so far. The inital motivation was a problem of a family member.
I didn't do much after the launch except of a few added features, security improvements, and bug fixes. No "good" marketing , I just posted it on a few subreddits in the beginning and did Google Ads with a $300 budget, but didn't work at all. No focus on SEO. All users come from organic traffic. My CTR on Google is 30-40% on an average position of 3, but only a few impressions a month. The search terms are always the name of the tool, which is a sign of word-of-mouth I guess.
However, as the number of licenses increases, I decided to refocus on this tool. I thought of adding a pro version with additional features on top of the free version. Because of this, I sent out a feedback survey asking how often they use my tool, what they're missing, which pro feature they would like and how much they would pay for it. I sent it with an e-mail broadcast. However nobody filled it out after a week. 58% opened the e-mail, 13% clicked the link to the survey, 0 filled out.
What am I doing wrong? Do you have any advice for getting feedback?
