How do you advertise your projects? And here what I tried so far.
Hey everyone,
For the past 2 weeks, I've been grinding on marketing my newly finished SaaS, but I’m struggling to get solid traction, signups, or usage.
The Product: It’s a web tool that converts music/podcast audio files combined with a cover image into render-ready MP4s and uploads them directly to YouTube - eliminating the need to open Premiere Pro, DaVinci, or render files locally.
Target Audience: Indie artists, beatmakers, record labels, podcasters, and developers looking to automate their audio-to-video workflow via API/integrations.
Here is what I’ve tried so far:
- Directory Launches: Listed on Product Hunt, SaaSHub, AlternativeTo, etc. (as backlink)
- Programmatic SEO & Web Setup: Built SEO-targeted landing pages, meta tags, and set up GSC & GA4 tracking.
- Reddit Outreach: Posted in niche subreddits (though a few got removed for self-promotion).
- Content: Created a YouTube tutorial video and embedded it on the site.
- Reduced Friction (Auth Shift): Removed the mandatory upfront Google Login - users now only need to authenticate when actually rendering/exporting to YouTube.
- UI/UX Refactor: Streamlined the core app dashboard into a step-by-step wizard to reduce decision paralysis.
- Growth Hacks / Watermarking: Added custom watermark options and allowed users to download watermarked MP4s for free if they share it on Reddit or X.
- Integrations: Developed a custom n8n NPM package, published tutorial workflows, and posted on the n8n community forums.
- Cold Outreach: Sent cold emails/DMs to "useful websites you didn't know" curators on Instagram/TikTok,
- Paid Ads: Ran a small test Google Ads campaign ($5 / 2,000 HUF budget) targeting the US and UK.
What I’m planning to try next:
- Direct outreach (DMs) to indie artists and beatmakers on IG/TikTok.
- Cold B2B/B2C outreach once my domain warm-up process completes.
Despite all this, conversion is near zero. For those who have launched similar micro-SaaS tools in the creator/music space, what am I missing? What channels should I double down on?
Appreciate any brutally honest feedback on the strategy!
