Got same impression in Reddit as LinkedIn with < 10% of time invested

In the last 28 days, I posted ~13 times on LinkedIn. It takes thought, epiphany, or some decent copywriting to push content on LinkedIn.

On Reddit, I mostly repurposed LinkedIn posts or simply asked the questions I needed to ask in the right communities.

Here's what I noticed-

1️⃣ Got the same ballpark impressions on both the platforms

2️⃣ With LinkedIn, some comments smelt of AI. Reddit served raw, OG comments. 𝘐𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘐 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘙𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘞𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘙𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘞𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬.

3️⃣ LinkedIn often feels like an echo chamber. Reddit is brutal, frank, and matter-of-fact. 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘞𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘜𝘙𝘓 𝘪𝘯 𝘙𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘞𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧, 𝘴𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧. 𝘔𝘦𝘵𝘢, 𝘢𝘪𝘯'𝘵 𝘪𝘵?

4️⃣ LinkedIn is a place of collegues and a nurturing network. Reddit is a community of strangers who both diss and encourage each other.

5️⃣ Reddit has a specific place to post for various topics, where no one cares how many followers you have. LinkedIn's algorithm prioritizes engagement. 𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘴, 𝘢𝘥𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.

6️⃣ Comments on Reddit have their own human flaws and values, minus the affiliated ones. Comments on LinkedIn are often used for farming engagement.

7️⃣ And while we are on this, I believe that Reddit has better potential on Search Engines and now LLMS as well, any time than LinkedIn has.

8️⃣ One nice thing about LinkedIn, though, is the resurfacing of week-old content in the feed. Reddit posts usually have a set lifetime. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴 𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵/𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴.

As a marketer, I think it would be great if we could bring more of the rawness to LinkedIn that Reddit has and even reduce the orchestrated and engineered posts.
