Got 0 beta users from Reddit, then got 10 in one evening.

A few weeks ago, I told my co-founder that getting the first 50 beta users wouldn’t be that hard. We decided to focus only on improving the product first.

The next day, I posted in a couple of Reddit SaaS communities looking for beta users. I even thought about limiting it to the first 50 people. Instead, I got silence. Zero signups.

I started doubting everything. Maybe the product wasn’t ready. Maybe I missed something obvious.

Then the next day I attended AIBoomi, an offline SaaS event. I’m an introvert, so walking into that room felt scary. My heart was racing and I genuinely felt like I didn’t belong there.

I started small. I asked one person what they were building. Then another. Slowly the fear turned into curiosity.

Eventually I started saying: “I’m building converzoy.com, an AI sales chatbot for websites. We’re looking for beta users.”

The response surprised me. People asked questions, shared ideas, and one by one agreed to try it on their sites.

I ended up being the last person to leave the event. I walked out with 10 beta users.

That night I realized something simple: people are often willing to help, we’re just afraid to ask.

Would love advice on what my next GTM step should be.
