I’m a 20-year-old accounting student and bookkeeper. For the past few months, I’ve been building an AI bookkeeping app for small business owners.
The app is live, but I’m completely exhausted from trying to get users. I’ve posted content, reached out to creators, messaged hundreds of business owners, and tried different marketing strategies, but I’m still getting very little traction.
I really don’t want to give up because I spent a lot of time and money building it, and I still believe the product could help people. At the same time, constantly trying to market it with no momentum is burning me out.
Part of me is wondering whether I should stop the business, finish my accounting degree, build a stable career, and move on from the app.
If you were in my position, what would you do?
I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who have built a business that struggled to get its first users or who had to decide when to walk away.
